According to one woman, who submitted her complaint to an anonymous Reddit post, she is getting married in May while her fiancé’s 25-year-old daughter is getting married in June.

They didn’t offer their daughter any money to help with her special day – and neither did she ask for it – and the poster’s grandmother, future mother-in-law, is absolutely furious.

“His mother was upset that we weren’t paying for his daughter’s wedding and made comments that we were selfish and that he didn’t need a second wedding,” the woman claimed. .

“The mother-in-law told my stepdaughter that her dad wasn’t interested in her or that he would want to pay for her wedding,” she added.

The “last straw” for the stepmother was during her daughter’s date to try on her wedding dress.

She said it was “a bit awkward” when she found out her daughter only invited her because her mother-in-law pressured her – but that’s not the worst part.

“She found her dress and was going to buy it, and her mother-in-law turned to me in front of everyone (three friends, future mother-in-law and consultant) and asked if I was going to pay for it. it,” recalls the poster.

“His daughter even told her to stop.

“The dress was $14K.

“There’s no way I’d pay for that.”

The daughter finally ended her grandmother’s anger, but not before her grandmother remarked otherwise about her father not loving her enough.

“I finally scolded her to shut up,” the stepmother wrote.

“After [my husband and I] called her and told her she was ridiculous and that if she paid for his daughter’s wedding again she would be blacklisted to us.

“Mother-in-law said we were too harsh on her and it was a malicious threat and we were heartless,” she concluded.

Luckily for the poster, the Redditors confirm she’s not wrong – but what they’re really interested in is the price of the wedding dress.

One reader wrote: “Guessing that her mother-in-law doesn’t ‘love her niece enough’ she shelled out $14,000 herself, not to mention the entire cost of the wedding.

“$14K for king dress af**! I spent less than that on both of my weddings,” another added.

“The granddaughter doesn’t even ask for money, and any bride who can shell out $14,000 for a wedding dress clearly doesn’t have to worry about finances. Enough is enough,” a third person queried.

No secret wedding – or simply a wedding dress – can cause so much drama in a family.

An outraged mother-in-law wore her own wedding dress at her son’s wedding after he and his bride rejected her initial choice of outfits.

Another woman has been criticized by the Internet after wearing a complete bridal gown to a wedding she was invited to.
