SHE’S spent three years playing a supporting role on This Morning and was one of the show’s most popular faces.

Her presenting slots proved extremely popular with viewers, who clamored for her to become a more frequent fixture on the show’s presenting roster. And it’s likely Josie will get her chance as Holly takes a step back to film her new BBC challenge series with Wim Hof in the coming months.

Now, 36-year-old Bristolian Josie is still holding herself back to see how far she has come.

“Just a couple of years ago, my nanny asked me to apply for a job at Lidl because they were high paying people,” she said. I think something has always been with me, I don’t know what it is. I consider myself quite religious.

“Then again, you don’t know what’s around the corner – it could be here today and gone tomorrow, so you have to enjoy it. My family are my biggest fans and supporters. I have a large family and I think I’ve received messages from all of them, and I haven’t been able to get back to each one yet.”

Josie first rose to fame in 2010 when she won Big Brother with nearly 80% of the public vote – the highest of any show on the show.

With co-stars and then boyfriends John James Parton, she went on to star in two of her own reality television series before becoming a regular guest on panel shows.

A success with viewers, Josie joined This Morning in 2019 as a contest announcer. She quickly became known for her comedy skills and became the face of all things fun on the show, from live contests to a mini-vacation series with the show’s new Friday host, Mr. Alison Hammond.

Being viewed by more than a million viewers a day has given Josie’s reputation a boost, and she says: “When someone asks me for a picture, I think, ‘Oh my God, someone wants a picture of me. !’ It’s really flattering.”

Her newfound fame and recent promotion to work alongside Vernon – who Josie says is “lovely, truly the salt of the earth” – has also seen her approached with a contract. co-advertisement of great value underwear.

And Josie, who slimmed down from a size 20 to a size 14, said she feels more confident and attractive in her body after losing weight. “I haven’t bought any new clothes yet, but a great lingerie brand wants to work with me,” she said. I probably shouldn’t have said anything. They talk about real women, but I still want to look and feel comfortable.”

Josie credits her weight loss work to Weight Watchers and was revealed to be an ambassador for the company earlier this month. And even though she’s already enjoyed eating Christmas, she says her diet is still being worked on.

She added: “I’m wearing my size 14 jeans again. I could tell they were a bloody squeeze. I didn’t limit myself to Christmas. I do fluctuate a bit and go up and down. I was 18-20 years old before and now I am 14-16 years old so I am satisfied with that. I never knew how much weight I lost in the stones because I no longer weighed myself.

“I used to have a lot of scales, but I don’t own any anymore. I purposely don’t weigh myself anymore because sometimes you get too focused on numbers. Now I’m figuring out how much exercise I can do during the week, how much I can eat and drink, and how much water I can drink that day.

“I also don’t have to weigh myself at WW anymore – it’s optional. I don’t put any pressure on myself nor restrict myself. I just made the right decisions. At WW, there are loads of zero-based foods to choose from, so I’m eating all the good stuff and I feel great.”

For Josie, the big motivation to get in shape is because of her three-year-old son Reggie. She said: “I definitely have more energy and I can run after Reggie now. He’s lightning fast. I had to get up in the morning and go, and I lost that a little bit.

“Life is funny – it can throw things at you, but when you feel fit and healthy, you can move on with it. I run in HIIT (Intensity Intensity) workouts. But I want to improve in longevity training. I was really good last week and I did Blaze three times at the David Lloyd gym, but then I’m away from work this week, so it just depends. Nothing is set up, but I will have more structure this year. “

Josie is currently single after breaking up with Reggie’s dad, Terry, when he was just 4 months old. The couple, who have kept their relationship private and have never revealed Terry’s last name, moved in together during the first coronavirus lockdown in March 2020 so they could be with Reggie’s parents but then he moved out in July.

But even though she’s feeling more confident than ever, Josie made it clear she’s conflicted about getting back into the dating scene. When asked if she was ready to find a new boyfriend, Josie admitted: “I don’t think it’s fair to them because I go to work and take care of my little boy.

“If I’m dating someone, that’s when I can’t leave Reggie, and I want to give him everything I have right now. However, at the same time I also wanted to be taken out to dinner and a little bit of attention. I do, and I don’t. I can’t solve it. It’s hard because if I meet someone I really like, you want to give a part of you and I feel like I just don’t have the energy to give right now.

“And I don’t want people to get in and out of his life. That’s going to be difficult, isn’t it?” And marriage, says Josie, seems certain to be indisputable – even if she finds Mr Right.

Josie explains: “I’m not joking – I stand in front of millions of people every day and go on TV. But there’s nothing scarier than walking down the aisle. I was a bridesmaid at my sister’s wedding, and I had to walk her young son down the aisle, and oh my god – I’m a piece of crap.

“I was shaking and everything. I don’t know everyone, I’m a very stressed person, and I thought to myself – I can never do this. I was shaking. I couldn’t even look up. “

Fierce competition

Although Josie is happily single, that doesn’t mean she lacks admirers. And now she admits she no longer reads her direct messages on social media because some suitors are trying to get her attention.

She laughed: “Once I checked them out, and I saw something horrible. He’s exposing himself, and in this way, he has a Baywatch-like body and a Crimewatch-like face. So now I never test them”.

In the coming months, This Morning fans hope to see more of Josie on their screens but this may not be the only show she’s interested in.

Josie, who has previously had two reality shows of her own, John James and Josie: What Happens Next and There’s Something About Josie, and has competed on Channel 4’s The Jump, would love a round Swirling on Seriously coming up with Dancing.

“I love it, but what I’m not good at is dancing to other people’s moves.

“When I took aerobics classes, I was the one who couldn’t keep up with it, and I never kept up with the rest of the class. My brain takes a little longer than the average person to connect with my body.

“Don’t put it out there. Seriously would think I’m impatient for work. The competition is too fierce. I was very nervous that I would go out first. I would struggle with jumping on my heels.

“I can’t even wear heels, let alone dance in them.”
