My son dies a little inside when I start talking about sex. But teenagers need to know that pornography is not reality

It’s rare that I long for my school days. Perhaps, after a particularly rough night, I’ll recoil in horror at the ghastly walnut that greets me in the bathroom mirror and idly think, “Oh, to be young again.” In general, I’m like, ‘Well, thank God that’s over.’

But reading the headlines last week made me pause for a moment and think about my endless way forward because apparently they are going to be teaching pornography in schools. A bold progressive move, I thought to myself, wondering if they would start with the classic works of Jon Holmes before moving on to OnlyFans’ modern Emily Dickinson. Then I read the rest of the story and realized that they actually didn’t intend to teach the kids pornography, they were considering teaching them about pornography, which is a different matter altogether.
