Indianapolis police believe the man and woman died of unnatural causes and an inquest into their deaths is ongoing after their bodies were found in a pickup truck

Mystery surrounds the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in a back garden.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and say her death was not natural.

Officers arrived at the Indianapolis home around 3:30 p.m. Saturday after reports of two male bodies near the property.

However, when rescue workers arrived, they confirmed that the two people were a man and a woman.

Their bodies were discovered in a van at the 2600 block of Mars Hill Street in the city’s southwest.

No third-party fault is suspected, but detectives believe the deaths could have resulted from a double overdose, reports have reported The sun.

Earlier this month, progress was made in another investigation in the state after a man’s decomposing body was found in a suitcase.

Larry Terry disappeared in March 2019 and his cause of death has now been revealed while his murder remains unsolved.

The man died of asphyxia due to strangulation, the Marion County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

The city of Indianapolis has had 92 criminal homicides so far in 2022, according to the coroner and police.

More than three quarters of those deaths were caused by shootings, a total of 74, while another three were fatally stabbed.

Another eight victims were killed by blunt force, one by exposure, one by trauma, one by sharp force injuries, and another by asphyxiation, with the victim being raped and suffocated. The cause of death of the other victims is unknown.

Elsewhere in Indiana, a man was killed in an early morning shooting Sunday. Police in Anderson responded to reports of a shooting around 3.30am and found three victims who were taken to hospital.

According to local reports, one died on arrival while the other two remain hospitalized.

The attack came three hours after another shooting in the same area, in which police reported finding two gunshot victims.
