Mythic Legends tips for auto-battler dominance

Auto battlers are the hottest thing in strategy gaming right now, but so far they’ve had some drawbacks on mobile platforms. Long sessions that require constant player engagement are fine for PC gamers, but mobile gamers need a drop-in, drop-out experience, and that’s exactly what Mythic Legends delivers. And that without sacrificing the tactical depth you want from a strategy role-playing game.

We don’t have the space here to go into every single strategic detail of Mythic Legends, but we can share some expert tips that are sure to give you an edge over the competition.

Important tips for winning battles

First, unlike other auto-battlers, Mythic Legends has no time constraints, so you can take as much time as you like to study your opponent and prepare the perfect counterattack. Simply maxing out your power rating won’t work in every battle here. In fact, your most satisfying wins will come against opponents with higher power ratings. You really need to set up your formation to defend against your opponent’s strengths and target their weaknesses. Never assume that a formation that works against one opponent will work against every opponent in the tournament. If you really want to win, you have to adapt your tactics to each fight.

Just like in other auto-battlers, synergy plays an important role in Mythic Legends, so using as many champions of the same origin or class as possible is usually a smart strategy. A synergy bonus at level 2 is always more than twice as good as one at level 1, and a synergy bonus at level three is always twice as good as at level 2. So stacking your champions in a synergy or two will give you the best synergy bonuses. But while synergy bonuses are powerful, they’re not everything. You also need to consider the level and rarity of your champions, their individual skills, and their performance against your opponent’s team. Sometimes sacrificing a synergy bonus for a different priority can win a fight.

Understand the champions

It can be difficult to pinpoint exactly which champions, synergies, and artifacts will help you the most in combat, as so much is happening on screen in such a short amount of time. Luckily, Mythic Legends includes a nifty Battle Stats screen to help you figure out where your strengths and weaknesses lie. The most important section is Damage, which tells you how much pain each legend and champion was able to inflict. But always remember that not every champion’s role is primarily to deal damage. Under Received, you can see how much damage each champion has absorbed, which is especially useful when you want to check if your defensive knight champions are doing their job. And under Healing you can check how effective your priests and other healers are. Of course, you always have to keep in mind that your next fight might turn out very differently than your last one, but this is a really useful tool nonetheless.

Between battles, you can choose champion cards and artifacts that you can use to bolster your team. The champion cards only come in small batches, just enough to level up a champion if you’re lucky, but it’s the artifacts that make the biggest difference. There are two main approaches to artifact selection. You can snag the 3-star items as soon as they become available, or you can play a long-game strategy and invest in the 1-star artifacts early before upgrading them into extremely powerful 2-star and 3-star items . As always, there is no one right way. You must consider which artifacts will benefit your team the most and which will cause the most problems for your opponents. In general, leveling up the shared artifacts is a solid strategy, as they’re usually beneficial to your entire team, regardless of your strategy. The rarer, more specialized artifacts always have a random aspect, making them more of a gamble so you never know if they’re going to prove extremely devastating or completely useless.

know your enemies

You’ll face off against up to 8 opponents in Mythic Legends tournaments, and even the most die-hard strategy player will have a hard time keeping tabs on each of them and tailoring a strategy for each one. Because of this, we recommend identifying the strongest players early in the tournament and focusing your tactical thinking on how to beat them. They will eventually be the last players standing at the end of the tournament. They might suffer a few minor losses against weaker players along the way, but it doesn’t matter if they’re eliminated after a few rounds anyway. Focus your mind, and if necessary your coins and gems, on beating these stronger players and you’ll be more likely to come out on top in the end.

Our last tip concerns the best long-term strategy in Mythic Legends. You’ll inevitably level up the champions you acquire early on, and they’ll fill a sort of “old loyal” role, meaning you’ll be reluctant to retire them, even as you unlock new, more exotic origins as you progress through the game. But we can’t stress enough that it’s worth investing in new Origins as you unlock them, and gradually phasing out most of those older champions, while it may be a little painful. This is because the origins you unlock later on generally have better champions and better synergy bonuses. As always, there are no absolutes or guarantees, and you’ll need to experiment and mix and match. But we can confidently say that if you rely too heavily on your old favorites, you’ll gradually be left behind by players exploiting the new Origins.

Join the fight today!

If you haven’t started yet, you should now be ready to enter the Mythic Legends arena and climb to the top of the tournament leaderboards. Remember, there isn’t just one way to win. The fun of this game is experimenting with combinations and formations, and discovering new, more powerful strategies the more you play
