Tenants looking for rental accommodation in Naas, Co. Kildare can expect an increase in availability after Bord Pleanála recently decided to increase the number of apartments in the Rathvoy Park development from 152 to 171.

The project is being developed by McGrath Group Properties, an Irish family business, and the group intends to retain ownership of the development for lease.

The first two blocks will be completed and ready for occupancy in September, while the remaining blocks will be delivered at later stages. Full development will be completed by next summer.

Joey Walsh, a senior executive at McGrath Group, said: “Rathvoy Park will provide first class accommodation for people looking to live in this vibrant area of Naas in Co Kildare.

“It is a mixed-use development focused on the lived experience of the local community, which is one of our key goals in providing world-class residential properties. We build quality homes that are built to last and this development will be no different.

“Our aim is to build as sustainably as possible, with a focus on the local community and the wider area.”

The company did not provide any information on the expected rents. However, based on recent rents per square foot, they could range from €1,600 for one-bedroom units to as much as €2,200 for three-bedroom apartments. The latter range in size up to 1,500 square feet, which is larger than a standard three-bedroom new home.

A recent search on Daft.ie revealed that there are only three houses available for rent in Naas.

Rathvoy Park is adjacent to the Osprey Hotel and convenient to Naas town centre. The development also includes outdoor green spaces for residents to use, a crèche and a large community building where residents can hold gatherings, parties or barbecues.

The neighboring Osprey Hotel has a sizeable gym, leisure and spa facilities.

Earlier this year, McGrath Group sold two phases of its 108-flat Elmwood development on Johnstown Road, Cabinteely, Dublin 18 to charity Clúid Housing for an estimated price of €45 million. It has also made developments in the UK and Germany.
