National Lotto promises “four millionaires in four weeks” in August.

he national lottery has promised to make a new millionaire every week in August through EuroMillions’ Ireland Only Raffle competition.

The raffle events mean that every Friday EuroMillions draw on August 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th will have a guaranteed winner of €1 million.

As with every EuroMillions draw, the Ireland Only Raffle will generate 10 sweepstakes codes, each awarding €5,000. One of those ten winners will then get an additional €1 million added to their prize in the four draws throughout the month.

Any player in Ireland who purchases a ticket for a Friday EuroMillions draw between 5th and 26th August will automatically be entered into the draw for that relevant draw. A unique code on each ticket is the player’s raffle number.

A spokesman for the National Lottery said: “Normally each EuroMillions draw in Ireland produces ten winners of the €5,000 raffle prize, but for the next four Friday draws we have created something very special. In addition to the normal raffle prize in each draw, four winners from all four draws will win the special prize of €1 million. That means we’re going to make at least four people brand new millionaires.

“Not only will the promotion see the creation of four instant millionaires in Ireland over the four weeks, but all EuroMillions players in Ireland will also have the chance to become Ireland’s second EuroMillions jackpot winner in 2022.”

Prize winners are advised to sign the back of their tickets and visit for details of their nearest An Post Prize Claim Center where prizes up to €14,999 can be claimed.

It comes as excitement over the three-month lottery rollover at the end of 2021 netted the national lottery around €180m in revenue last year, figures from last month revealed.

The record-breaking jackpot of more than €19 million boosted sales from September to December as the top prize went unclaimed week after week.

Increased interest due to the size of the prize being offered for so long helped lift total lottery sales above the €1 billion mark for the first time.

In its annual review, the National Lottery said it had a turnover of €1.05 billion last year, up from €918 million in 2020.

Of this, €304 million was distributed to so-called ‘good causes’, while €586 million was paid out in winnings for lottery and other games, including scratch cards.

Six lottery players have won the Irish jackpot so far this year. National Lotto promises “four millionaires in four weeks” in August.
