National Rail’s new YouTube channel shows British trains from the driver’s cabin

Rail fans can now sit back and enjoy “beautiful” train rides from the comfort of their own homes.

Jacqueline Starr, CEO of the Railroad Delivery Corporation, said the footage was “the most comprehensive and high quality ever shot on
British Railways”.
She added: “We want these rare glimpses of these beautiful journeys to inspire people to enjoy the best of England.
“Railways are more than just a journey – as well as helping you relax and unwind, it connects you to the people and places you love, and is one of the greenest ways to explore the world. the most beautiful scenery England has.” Routes are covered from the Scottish Highlands to Norfolk.

The footage is set on a nine-hour continuous loop with music. National Rail plans to release new footage every week for six weeks.
The move is part of an effort to boost train use after the pandemic’s disruption – although recreational train travel is now close to 95% of pre-pandemic levels.
