Natwest plans to close its Broadwater Worthing branch

A bank has announced another closure as it continues to slash branches across the country.

Natwest will close its Broadwater, Worthing site on May 16.

It comes as 23 branches across the UK are set to be closed by Natwest as more people switch to online banking.

Two other stores in Sussex are also due to close this year.

The bank’s Gatwick Road, Crawley branch will close on 11 May.

The date for the closure of the East Street, Shoreham branch has yet to be set.

In a statement on its website, Natwest said: “The way people bank with us has changed dramatically in recent years, with increased demand for mobile and online services as customers benefit from a faster and easier way to benefit from banking.

“Closing a store is a decision we take very seriously. We know it can affect people less familiar with the alternatives we offer and we will always work hard to guide you through the changes and find the best way to serve you from now on.”
