Netflix confirms actress will play young Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton prequel

Netflix has teased Bridgerton fans with more details about an upcoming prequel series that will tell the story of young Queen Charlotte and how she became an iconic character in the series about motherhood.

Netflix has confirmed who will take on the role of young Queen Charlotte in the upcoming Bridgerton prequel.
A spin-off series has been revealed by the streaming giant, and now a few more details have been announced.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Netflix continued somewhat on Twitter as fans took a closer look at some of the upcoming shows.
One particular tweet reads: “QUEEN CHARLOTTE: All hail Queen Charlotte! For her next series, Shonda Rhimes will chronicle Queen Charlotte’s popularity and power in a prequel that will see Golda Rosheuvel reprises her role and India Ria Amarteifio joins the Bridgerton verse as the young Queen Charlotte.”
The post is attached with a black and white photo of Golda and India at, what appears to be, a read-through for the upcoming series.
Netflix fans may recognize India from her role as Lizzie in the popular show Sex Education.
She has also starred in films such as Military Wives, Unforgotten and Line of Duty as well as Doctor Who.

Taking to Instagram, India shared the same snap of herself with actress Golda and wrote along with it: “Ur, yeah? Yeah. Really no words. Thank you to my secret keepers for your help. keep secret. Absolute honor :).”
The upcoming spin-off will serve as a limited series for Bridgerton’s main run, starring Jonathan Bailey.
As a prequel, the show will rewind the clock and explain to fans how Queen Charlotte became an iconic figure in the motherhood series.
Along with the initial announcement of the spin-off, Netflix’s Bela Bajaria (head of global television) said: “Many viewers never knew the story of Queen Charlotte before Bridgerton brought her in. to the world, and I’m delighted that this new series will further expand her story and the world of Bridgerton.”
Shonda Rhimes will serve as the show’s lead writer. This is the first time Shonda has directly participated in writing the script as she is only acting as an executive producer of the main series.
Bridgerton seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch on Netflix right now.
