Netflix raises subscription price in Ireland to over 15pc

Netflix has announced massive price hikes, effective immediately.

His biggest increase is being applied to its ‘premium’ 4K plan, from €17.99 to €20.99 per month.

The basic plan increases from €7.99 to €8.99 per month, while the ‘standard’ plan increases from €12.99 to €14.99 per month.

Price increases apply immediately to new customers, while existing customers will be notified 30 days in advance.

A spokesperson for Sky said that it will not change its prices for packages that include Netflix. Meaning Sky customers now save €3, €5 or €7 per month if they pay for Netflix along with the Sky TV package.

The move comes after Disney Plus announced that it will soon include ads in a new basic streaming plan.

A Netflix spokesperson said that the company has significant production underway in Ireland.

“Our updated prices reflect the investment we have made in our service and portfolio, and will allow us to continue creating series, documentaries and films that members We love and invest in talent and the creative industry,” said a Netflix spokesperson. “We offer a wide range of packages so members can choose the one that works best for them.” Netflix raises subscription price in Ireland to over 15pc
