Netflix restricts users from watching some TV shows and movies when it rolls out cheaper plans

NETFLIX has finally rolled out its new budget subscription plan, but you might find some TV shows and movies are missing.

The streaming giant has banned some favorites due to licensing restrictions.

This includes things like House of Cards and Suits to name a few.

Anyone subscribed to the Basic with Ads tier will see a lock next to shows that are available on Netflix but aren’t included on the cheaper plan.

When you click on the show or movie, you’ll have the option to upgrade to access Netflix’s full catalog.

Not to disappoint people too much, Netflix’s homepage seems to only promote content that ad-supported subscribers can see.

However, if something locked is in the top ten, you will notice the padlock icon.

And it will show up for anything you’re looking for.

Of course, that’s not the only thing that’s massively different.

The biggest thing you will notice are the ads, which Netflix has never had before.

It’s designed to cut costs, allowing users to pay £4.99/$6.99, which is £2/$3 less than the usual basic plan with no ads.

Those considering opting for the new option need to be aware that content will not be available in the best possible quality either.

Instead of 1080p or 4K, you only get 720p.

The last big thing to keep in mind is that you can only watch on one supported device at this time.

Also, you are not allowed to download and save your favorite shows or movies offline on your iPhone or other devices.
