NOKIA has unveiled two new smartphones – including a model priced at just £74.99.
The untrained might mistake this cheap blower for a high-end Samsung or iPhone, but it’s really a frugal Nokia phone.
HMD Global – the company that makes phones under the Nokia brand – launched these two handsets at Mobile World Congress taking place in Barcelona this week.
Yes Nokia C2 (2nd Edition) and Nokia C21 Plus.
Nokia describes the phone as “ultra-durable and reliable” with a sturdy metal frame.
This is a follow-up from the previous Nokia C2 that was launched in 2020.
The phone has a 5.7-inch touchscreen and a 5-megapixel camera on the back.
It’s surprisingly appealing for such a cheap phone and will likely appeal to budget buyers.
It is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and runs on Google’s Android 11 Go Edition.
Nokia C2 (2nd Edition) is available in the UK from May.
It comes in Dark Blue or Warm Gray and starts with £74.99 variants.
There are two memory/storage variants: 2/32GB and 3/32GB.
The Nokia C21 Plus is a slightly more expensive handset – but still very cheap at £99.99.
This is the “flagship” device in Nokia’s low-cost C-series, equipped with a large 6.5-inch HD display.
It has two 13-megapixel cameras on the back, allowing it to take iPhone-style Portrait photos with a “bokeh” background.
And it has a massive 4,000mAh battery that Nokia claims will give you two days of battery life.
The phone is available in Dark Cyan and Warm Gray and comes in three memory/storage variants: 2/32GB, 3/32GB, 4/64GB.
You will be able to buy the Nokia C21 Plus from the end of April.
Nokia chief Florian Seiche called the release of these phones a “new chapter”.
He describes them as “affordable Nokia devices that are not only secure, reliable and durable, but also ensure that as many people as possible have access to the latest cutting-edge technology at a lower cost.” “.
