A new Starbucks on the site of a former hotel along the A27 is due to open in late spring, it has been announced.
The Newmarket Inn and Hotel, about two miles from Lewes, is being refurbished to convert the space into a new cafe.

“We want to breathe new life into the property and ensure it remains part of the country’s valuable hospitality industry.
“We will ensure that the building is sensitively remodeled for a new drive-to location due to open in late Spring 2023.”
Up to 31,000 vehicles pass through the grounds of the new café every day.
The Southern Co-op operates more than 300 grocery, funeral and Starbucks coffee outlets across southern England.
