New Trailer Shows Nintendo Switch Sports as Part of Fitness Program

When the Wii launched alongside its iconic bundled game, Wii Sports (except in Japan, where it was sold separately), trailers showed games of all ages and types rearing their butts and waving a remote control around. The Switch has caught up a bit in this generation, with Ring Fit Adventure in particular proving to be the modern spiritual successor to Wii Fit.
The arrival of Nintendo Switch Sports this week will bring us a third generation of controller winksports; Don’t forget Wii Sports Club on Wii U! So, over five years after the system’s launch, its place in the library is a bit different, and in the latest Japanese commercial we see Nintendo tie the game to Ring Fit Adventure as a natural part of a workout routine. We see the player complete a few drills before jumping into an online badminton match (and taking it pretty seriously too).
As a marketing angle, it makes a lot of sense, and we have to smile when we see Nintendo so deliberately emphasizing the Joy-Con strap – after all, a couple of TVs paid the price back for overzealous Wii players a day.
Let us know in the comments what you think of Nintendo Switch Sports joining Ring Fit Adventure as part of a home fitness routine – doable reality or marketing fluff?
