The New worldeam posted the February 2022 dev team update, and it’s filled with reflection and weighing in on player feedback on the update along with what to expect in the bugfix-specific February update. error.
As with the developer’s previous updates, there’s a video you can watch with game director Scot Lane and other team members. One of the themes they highlighted was player friction, which some members of the community came up with to get in the way of them being able to have fun. Some mechanics just feel like a tagline and they admit that they’re listening.
They acknowledge that some of the items and mechanics still in the game are from earlier ideas they had for what was supposed to be more of a survival and crafting game. What they want to do is reduce some of these things to keep players away. The February update will include a number of tweaks such as reduced travel costs, reduced recovery time at hostels, and other improvements that should make the experience smoother.
Also, the focus of the February update is on what they are calling “bugs, bots and balances”. All we should see are fixes for the system and bugs that occurred due to the November-January updates as well as fixing some of the problems that arise from them. It’s basically a promised update that focuses on fixing things and includes over 700 fixes.
Additional themes include battle and game modes. players have had problems with PVP from population to messy moves and freezing in place other than jumping. These awkward mistakes will trap players when they just want a good old league. There will be updates on melee movement and speed boost. There are also fixes coming to Outpost Rush that will allow more players to participate and earn better rewards. The February update will have better weapons from the cache, more specialization opportunities, faction tokens, and a score overhaul.
