New World postpones Heart of Madness update to tomorrow

Before the originally planned release of the Heart of Madness update for New worldAmazon Games has decided to push it back to tomorrow, Wednesday March 30th, to fix a bug they found late in the process.

For those who followed New world’s launch and post-launch development and progress have experienced a number of issues including delays and downtime. Postponing this huge update by a day seems like a very carefully considered decision, as it should hopefully avoid having to fix the bug and potential additional damage later. The PTS will also be extended into Wednesday.

While there’s no word on the nature of the bug that caused the delay, having them focus on fixing it and getting it properly tested before releasing the update is a step that makes sense.

Heart of Madness is indeed a huge update. It will complete the main story with new quests and a new expedition to master, completing the story and revealing Isabella’s secrets if you can catch up and take on her. There’s also the new blunderbuss weapon with its two trees and the new legendary weapon quest system debuting with this patch. Aeternum will also look a little different with the addition of various points of interest as well as some NPCs and creatures aimed at giving mid-level players a shot at great rewards, judging by the feedback that can drag on mid-game.

While New worldPlayer numbers have dropped significantly, the storyline update and additional endgame content and PvP features may bring some players back to see what’s going on and what’s changed. Additional changes, like having both health and mana regenerate out of combat, should also reduce some of the player’s healing burdens.

Heart of Madness is currently scheduled for release tomorrow, but no time has been announced yet. See the update below New world.
