Wood ‘Proved in the Premier League’
Former Premier League player Trevor Sinclair thinks Newcastle’s £25m bid for Chris Wood is a ‘bump’ for Prem’s proven talent.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Sinclair said: “I think if you’re going to put a credit clause in a contract, you make it a clause where the money you get, you can get a player of the same quality, and I don’t think Burnley did it.
“25 million pounds, I think it’s a hit.
“I’ve watched him a couple of times this season, I think he’s very mobile, great retention, he scores.
“He’s one of three in his entire career, and that’s also international football. He played 75 games for New Zealand, scoring 25 goals.
“He’s a good player. He’s a good striker, and he’s proven in the Premier League. If you look at his stats – 12 goals last season, 14 goals last season, 10, 10 – almost guaranteed double every season.”
