Rangnick comments on ten Hag rumors as Man Utd get closer to new boss
Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has declined to speak about Erik ten Hag in his latest press conference.
United have reportedly given new manager Ten Hag the green light to sign midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Scouts were dispatched to Argentina on Wednesday night to see River Plate take on Fortaleza in the Copa Libertadores and were impressed by Fernandez, who opened the scoring in a 2-0 win.
Meanwhile, police were called to Carrington on Friday as fans gathered to protest against the owners.

Rangnick says nothing about Ten Hag
Recent media reports suggest Manchester United are close to finalizing a deal for Ajax boss Erik ten Hag to take over Old Trafford.
Interim United boss Ralf Rangnick has been in the dugout since last December and was asked his opinion on the Dutchman’s impending arrival at Old Trafford. But Rangnick opted to focus on Saturday’s game against Norwich and not answer questions about speculation and didn’t offer much.
“I don’t know if it’s a done deal and my answer is the same – my focus is on the Norwich game and preparing the team at a higher level for the game,” said Rangnick.
Fernandez signs the approval
Manchester United need to bolster their midfield options in the summer transfer window.
Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic are both likely to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season and confidence in Fred and Scott McTominay has often left the team in games where their opponents dominate possession. River Plate’s Enzo Fernandez is believed to be an ideal signing and scouts were on hand to see him score midweek.
Fernandez has a release clause of around £16million.
Peaceful protest outside Carrington
Manchester United fans have expressed their concerns about the club’s leadership.
A handful of supporters turned up at the team’s Carrington training ground on Friday to protest the Glazers’ owners and call for their immediate removal. A larger peaceful protest is planned for Saturday First League Game against Norwich City at Old Trafford.
Police were called to get rid of the crowd while additional security personnel were at the scene.
