The heartbroken Motsi Mabuse family is stuck in Ukraine.

The star of the TV series said how her mother-in-law called her in tears after Russia invaded the country.

The 40-year-old woman said she felt completely helpless after communicating with her family when Russia landed in Ukraine by land, sea and air.

Motsi wrote on Twitter: “So sad to hear my mother-in-law crying this morning, scared and absolutely nothing we can do! Just honestly sad.”

She added: “Prayers for Ukraine and the World!”

Hours later, she posted another update: “Our parents have been told to go out and turn off the water and gas!

“They are unlikely to reach the Polish border.”

She was met with comments from worried fans sending their condolences.

“Thinking of you and your parents. I will never understand why humans can’t live together in peace and harmony,” one told her.

Another wrote: “So sad for you and your parents and everyone in Ukraine. Lots of love and prayers xx”

“I am heartbroken for the Ukrainian people. I am praying for their safety Motsi,” another reader.

The world was shaken by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s declaration of war against Ukraine this morning.
