Nicole Scherzinger went into the desert and reminded fans of the Pussycat Dolls’ heyday in their noughties.

The 43-year-old singer posted a short clip and a series of sensual photos to Instagram, featuring footage and images reminiscent of the music video for the girl band’s 2008 ballad I Hate This Part.

Back then, Nicole was joined by her bandmates Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Kimberly Wyatt in the desert for a video that has been streamed more than 100 million times, but now she’s started her own sandstorm.

Set to a soundtrack of Kanye West’s Ultraviolet Beam, the video sees Nicole, dressed in a floral low-cut dress and with her back to the camera, approaching and walking through a doorless Greco-Roman style wooden doorway in the desert. She moves slowly with benches to her left and right, then throws her right arm in the air and strokes her glossy dark locks.

Nicole continues to stretch both arms above her head before turning around to reveal perfectly toned legs in a pair of buckled black leather boots as she places her hands together in a praying motion. Finally, she doubles back, her face facing the camera, before leaping forward as the video, titled “Keep the Faith,” comes to an end.

Fans rushed to leave comments with one caption, “I don’t know why but this kind of reminds me of the ‘I Hate This Part’ music video.” Anyway, thank you for that, my dear.”

Others had made the same comparisons when Nicole, who has 5.2million followers on Insta, posted a series of 10 similarly themed images in the same stunning location. The first four pictures again showed the doorless door frame, while the next two Nicole with red lipstick posed amidst large boulders.

The final four frames then focused on a stunning sunset over the desert plains. Nicole posted the photos alongside the words, “The desert brings out the warrior goddess in me,” and when artist Danny Minnick saw the first shot of Nicole in the doorway, he simply quipped, “This is a framed masterpiece.”

Another said: “Desert warrior queen! I love the sunset in one of the pictures. I’m getting I Hate This Park/Xanadu (the dress) vibes.” Two other posters, meanwhile, added: “I Hate This Part Vibes” and “I Hate This Part 2.0”.

The pictures received almost 40,000 likes on the first day of publication, and the video almost 7,000 within three hours.
