According to multiple one- and two-star reviews, visitors were greeted by “chaos” as staff were reportedly unable to control disruptive guests. Reviewers claim they were snubbed by the group, who used “obnoxious language” and left the site littered with broken glass and dog poop.

Reviewers reportedly said the campground was “lawless” at night, and one wrote, “If you’re looking for somewhere family-friendly, this isn’t the place for you.”

The father, whose children are seven months and six years old, said: “We came to the site, took a seat and set up the caravan. Within half an hour I knew we wouldn’t have any. There were kids flying around on electric scooters and going around with balls, but it was also the language you would hear them say.”

The North Yorkshire father-of-two said that while the children’s daytime antics made it difficult to unwind, as evening fell, things got a lot worse.

He added: “Me and the wife are in our 30s, we are not boring people. We’re going to have drinks and listen to music, but as an adult there comes a time when that has to stop because there are other people around you. It just went on all night.

“Around half past twelve in the morning, the children would drive around, honk the car horn and yell, ‘Caravanner, wake up!’ Then the adults would belt out music and swear, and the more drunk they got, the more aggressive they sounded. It was one of those situations where you didn’t want to confront her because it would make things worse.”

Some families said they decided to leave earlier because of the chaos

The family decided to leave a day early as they felt it was “unsafe for the children”. He believed the theme park itself was managed well enough, but said Flamingo Land had lost control of the camping and trailer park.

He said: “I think the security they had wouldn’t dare say anything. They were just young guys, and they probably would have felt so much grief over it that they thought, ‘Is it worth getting a real hook for this? ‘

“They had a little security booth there, but I only saw them once or twice. If I were them, I probably wouldn’t want to go over there and tell them anything either.”

Another Tripadvisor reviewer, who also stayed at Flamingo Land over the Easter holiday, said they saved “most of the year” to travel with their family of five. The reviewer wrote: “My son of four got a black eye just because they stole his ball and we reclaimed it.

“They smashed the campsite faucet, they pooped on the shower floor, they pushed in front of the ride-sharing queue, the children’s language was abominable and the parents didn’t care. The campsite was simply abandoned in disgrace.”
