No Man’s Sky’s Outlaws update features emboldened space pirates, the first new ship in years, and more

Nobody’s heaven has a new update available called Outlaws in which space pirates have started a colonization campaign across the galaxies.

While pirates have been in the game for ages, they’ve mostly been quiet. But that’s all in the past as now they use space stations as a base to occupy the surrounding system and carry out their smuggling operations. You can choose to face them in dynamic space battles or become an ally by joining their smuggling activities.

Should you decide to fight the space pirates, you can recruit a squadron of pilots to sneak in and join you when needed. A group can be formed by recruiting wingmen out in the galaxy or by upgrading your crew to an elite unit.

Word has circulated across the skies that the pirates have a new sail-equipped Solar-class starship. This diverse new ship features unique technology and is most commonly found in pirate-held systems. You will be able to find your own version and this will not result in you losing any of your existing ships. The maximum number of ships has been increased from six to nine. All ships also now have a special high-capacity cargo inventory in case you decide to side with the pirates and smuggle goods.

The update also includes Expedition Six: The Blighted. Here you embark on a treasure hunt through a distant galaxy to trace the routes of these mysterious pirates. The Blighted Expedition offers a chance to earn an exclusive Starship Trail; Pirate-themed base decorations; Your Own Wayward Cube/Geoff; a unique customization of the cloak and much more.

In addition to new content and rebalanced space combat, the update includes improvements to visual effects, some optimizations, and bug fixes.
