JAMIE REDKNAPP believes Jadon Sancho is lacking confidence and has a big challenge to return to the Manchester United team.
Sancho, 21, has scored twice and hasn’t provided an assist since he £73m in the summer to Old Trafford.
Against Aston Villa on Saturday, he was named on the bench with the academy product Anthony Elanga started before him.
And although Sancho comes on with 15 minutes to go, he has not had a positive effect on United – that is Villa instead, who scored twice to level up.
Redknapp mentioned above Sports Sky’ reported on the match: “Sancho has a big challenge.
“He made an impact today when he came on. When you come on you expect to make a bit of magic but in this case he came on and the team equalized 2–2. 2 when he was supposed to be the player helping the team.
“He lacks confidence. I’m watching him play and he’s a shadow of the player we’ve seen in the Bundesliga. He’s good in close quarters but my biggest worry is that he’s not. have the speed to run past people.
“That’s why Elanga played today. In the first minutes, United played down the pitch and he chased. Sancho didn’t. It was a real worry for him.

“It’s been a big test for him. He has to say he’s up for the challenge and to play, train and live right and maybe he can come back to the team.
“It’s been a huge challenge for him and Marcus Rashford.”
“Those are the types of players you want to see but he (Sancho) is playing within himself,” he said.
“When you’re one-on-one, you should marry a player. What happened to your people outside?”
