No Way Home is the end of the franchise

When we last saw Batalon’s Ned Leeds, he teamed up with Peter, MJ, Doctor Strange, and two other Spider-Man Variants from alternate universes to stop a group of multiverse villains from decimating. destroys Earth-616 (or Earth-199999, depending on how you look at it). Towards the end of the film, Sacred Timeline’s Peter Parker sacrificed his identity (and basically his entire life) to keep the entire multiverse. That means his girlfriend, his best friend, and anyone he considers family will no longer know who he is.

From a narrative standpoint, it completely wipes out Spider-Man in the MCU. Characters can go anywhere from here. Based on the film’s emotional ending, True Believers might have hoped that his future would involve reintroducing himself to MJ and Ned, but it’s not written in stone and that’s okay chief. While talking to Collider As for the future of these characters, Batalon shared that he’s definitely fine with where things land. He even revealed that it would be fine if Ned didn’t affect Spider-Man’s future. He explained:

“What a crazy thing to read. It’s crazy to watch [previous Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire] in the script. It’s crazy to have all the villains in the script. And then, for it to end the way it did, on such a cliff road, apparently, not everyone expected it. I would say it was a poignant ending to our movie. It really puts an exclamation point on the continuation of Spider-Man, but maybe not to us, and I think that’s a great thing. In the end, we may not necessarily have been a part of it, but it was a beautiful ride nonetheless. “ No Way Home is the end of the franchise
