Noel Gallagher on being slapped by an Oasis fan in classic interview

Noel Gallagher has poked fun at his younger brother Liam’s body during a brutal discussion about the singer’s looks and singing skills.

The 54-year-old former Oasis singer has had a long and explosive relationship with her 49-year-old brother Liam since their epic falling out in 2009.

And there is occasionally

flirtatious hints that the brothers might bury the hatchet and revive their legendary band from the Brit-pop era,

the rumors are quickly extinguished when one or the other brother says something offensive.

Fans should therefore perhaps not be too surprised to hear that Noel has made a cruel mockery of Liam’s weight – which will no doubt disrupt any reunion dreams.

The Mancunian singer took a swipe while chatting on The Matt Morgan Podcast as he mocked his younger brother’s body.

Noel said: “If he’s wearing a big coat, it’s usually because he’s got something big hiding underneath – a little belly.”

And it wasn’t just Liam’s waist that Noel delivered a verbal slap for, he also disregarded his singing skills by implying his range isn’t up to par.

Noel snorted: “When I was writing for Oasis in the early days, I always heard Liam’s voice.

“I wrote the tune in the style he sang until it became such a restrictive, narrow way of writing that it’s like, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’

“That’s when the songs started to change, because once you’ve got it, you’ve got it.”

In recent years, Liam has been known to enjoy running outdoors – before doctors advised him to switch his exercise regimen to cycling because of arthritis in his knees.

Last year, Noel admitted he was the reason he and his brother fell out – which brought Oasis to a halt as a band.

Speaking about the band’s collapse in 2009, Noel revealed that his petty reaction to a bag of clothes given to him by his brother from his clothing line Pretty Green was the trigger that led to the split from Oasis.

He recalled: “Liam gave us a lot of clothes, not just me, he gave them to the band. I went straight to the charity shop and left it in the shop door.

“He went insane. He said, ‘If you didn’t fucking want it, you should’ve just said you didn’t want it

Do you want it, you c***.

“It was a month before its launch on the mannequin at Barnardo’s. When push comes to shove, that was the beginning of the end.”

In 2020, Noel shattered hopes that Oasis would reform after reports the boys had been offered £100million to get back together.

He fumed on Twitter at the time: “So… right between nail painting and regular speaking classes I want to point out AGAIN that I’m not aware of any offer of any amount of money to reform legendary rock ‘n’ folk formation Oasis.”
