Northern Ireland Election 2022: Follow the latest tally, news and opinion here

The counting of votes for the parliamentary elections is now underway.

The first results are expected this afternoon. It comes after voters went to the polls across Northern Ireland on Thursday to elect 90 members of the assembly.

The first of the 90 MLAs are expected to be returned by Friday afternoon and counts are expected to continue through Saturday.
