Now is the time to have your car checked over in the winter months

It’s easy for me to say, much harder for many people in these trying times.

But I would still like to ask you not to put off repairs to your car.

This is not only a timely reminder as we head towards wintry weather and dangerous road surfaces, but an important consideration if you have postponed a check on your vehicle.

It’s hard to believe it’s mid-October and we have to reckon that the colder weather will start to take its toll on your car.

I know money is tight, repairs can be expensive and your car may be running fine with maybe a few small things that could use some attention.

The danger is that small things can quickly become big problems and failures.

I’m all for being careful with money, but you have to consider the price of fixing something that’s going to cost a lot more if you let it continue to deteriorate.

Brakes fall into this category. They need special attention. So lights. And tires too. I’m always cautious when talking about tires because most people seem to think they’re a real turnoff.

Well, I’m here to say that if your tires are punctured, under-inflated, or below their minimum depth, you roll for death.

A recent survey conducted by Continental revealed some alarming examples of tires that are well past their use-by date.

You know all this, or at least you should know it, when you get behind the wheel of a vehicle.

It is your responsibility.
And speaking of money, you’ll save yourself a lot of it if you spot problems before they get worse.

More importantly, you and your family can travel with peace of mind. Now is the time to have your car checked over in the winter months
