Actor Craig Robinson has thanked security and staff for “getting us out quickly” after a man fired a gun at a North Carolina comedy club before he was due to perform.
The 50-year-old, who is best known for playing Darryl Philbin on the US version of The Office, shared a video to Instagram after the evacuation, telling fans that there was an “active” comedy club at the comedy club Protect” give.
The shooting took place “just after 9 p.m.” at the Comedy Zone in Charlotte, there were no injuries and the suspect was taken into custody, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police confirmed.
On Sunday, Robinson posted a message to Instagram saying he hopes the shooter “gets the help he needs.”
It added: “About last night…. Thank you to security and Comedy Zone staff for getting us to safety quickly.
“Thank you everyone for your support and well wishes. Many thanks to CMPD for acting quickly in arresting the shooter.
“Hopefully he gets the help he needs. Thank goodness no one was hurt. Please stay healthy everyone.”
On Saturday night, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor shared an Instagram video that revealed he and others at the club were being whisked away to a nearby concert where pop group Big Time Rush was performing.

He said: “I’m safe. I’m cool. It was wild when I was in the green room and they said, ‘everyone out.’ It sure was a moment.”
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police tweeted a statement about the shooting: “Shortly after 9 p.m., a male subject entered a facility on Block 900 of NC Music Factory Boulevard.
“He swung a firearm into the store, which was quickly evacuated.
“The subject then fired his weapon. There were no injuries and the suspect was taken into custody.”
Robinson has acted in films such as Hot Tub Time Machine, This Is The End and The Bad Guys.
