Olivia Attwood is forced to withdraw from I’m A Celebrity… Get me out of here! after a routine blood test showed she was anemic.
His test, which all the contestants underwent at random throughout the show, also showed low sodium and potassium levels, which staff had to immediately take her to the hospital.
The former Love Island contestant, 31, revealed the truth behind her demise after just 24 hours in the Australian jungle in an interview with Mail On Sunday.
She said: “I was so scared, I was like: ‘What’s wrong with me?’
“They couldn’t give me an answer, they just told me they had to take me to the hospital immediately.
“The results were really low when they put them in their reader and they consulted with another doctor offsite.
“I made those drops of blood in the UK before leaving, and they were fine. I was very confused and of course very, very nervous.”
However, when tests were repeated in the hospital, they returned to normal, according to Attwood.
The reality TV star was then taken to a hotel to sleep while ITV decided if she could re-enter the camp.
She added: “They said because of the results the program medical team got from my readings, they were not happy to sign me back, even though I received a clean medical bill. from the hospital.
“If I go back to camp, they fear that my levels might drop and it could harm my health and well-being.”

She said ITV was not “willing to allow me to return and therefore I am not covered” before adding that she was “absolutely devastated”.
When she landed back in the UK, she had more blood tests, the results came back normal.
Asked if she would receive the full fee for the show, which is reported to be between £100,000 and £125,000, she replied: “We haven’t discussed that yet.”
Attwood also said she didn’t know Matt Hancock was on the show until she turned on her phone at Brisbane airport on her way home.
She said: “It’s funny to see him slip and get shot but it’s not funny if you’re not holding someone’s hand when they die while he’s stalking someone in his office.
“The NHS workers are protesting to be paid enough to survive and he is out making money in the woods. That doesn’t seem right, doesn’t it? “
ITV has been contacted for comment.
It comes after the public voted for the former health secretary, 44, to take part in his fifth consecutive trial on I’m a Celebrity.
Hancock will face the House of Horrors on Sunday and will be tasked with navigating a “strange house in the jungle” full of creatures.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced the news at the end of Saturday night’s episode, prompting laughter from the contestants as well as supportive comments.
Hancock’s previous trials have seen him covered in bamboo and feathers, trapped inside a cage partially submerged in water, and through dark tunnels.
McPartlin and Donnelly also announced that viewers can now vote on which campmates will become the leader.
Saturday’s episode also saw Hancock and 23-year-old campmate Owen Warner, better known as Romeo Nightingale in Hollyoaks, face off against a jungle-themed version of the game show Who Wants To Be A. Millionaire? Title: Who Wants To Look Silly On The Internet?
Knowing she would participate, Hancock laughed and said: “That was the most predictable outcome. It’s called looking silly on the waves, it’ll be me then.”
All the campmates watching McPartlin and Donnelly explain that they need to secure 11 stars to feed the entire camp.
The presentation duo then asked six multiple choice questions with 60 seconds to answer each question and the help of different lifelines.
Hancock and Warner were drenched in brown sauce before using Ask The Hosts to get McPartlin to answer exactly who played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movie – Gary Oldman.
They couldn’t guess what Australian city the Hemsworth brothers were born in, while another question was paused after watching campmates tried to give the correct answer by coughing.
Hancock and Warner then called Sue Cleaver for help using her as their Friend’s One Phone for a question regarding the year Coronation Road began.
The soap star was drenched while she took the call, with Warner shouting: “Leave Sue alone!”
I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! continues on ITV at 9pm.
