Olivia Bowen confessed that she was “nervous to see my body look different” during pregnancy.
Former Love Island stars Olivia and Alex Bowen confirmed the exciting news in January, and the 28-year-old has been regularly updating her fans and followers about her pregnancy journey.
The couple met on the ITV2 dating show in 2016 and tied the knot two years later before announcing in a sweet revelation earlier this year that they were becoming parents for the first time.
Olivia has previously spoken openly about her feelings about her changing body, and in a new interview with OK!she said the weight gain doesn’t worry her, but she’s been exercising.
“I can’t say I don’t give a damn about the change – I get nervous when I see my body look different. But most of all, I’m just happy to be pregnant,” Olivia said.
The reality star said she feels “lucky” that she’s been able to stay active during her pregnancy and still feels “fairly fit.”
Acknowledging that there are other women who have struggled with changing their bodies, Olivia said worrying about my body “seems so irrelevant.”
“It would feel selfish. I have a personal trainer for my husband so hopefully he’ll get me back in shape later!” She laughed.
Olivia and Alex revealed the news that they were expecting a baby on New Year’s Day, and she said she was “shocked” at how excited she was to become a mum.
“I’ve never thought of myself as a mother, even saying the word ‘mama’ sounds so strange to me. But I’m fascinated by buggies and baby grows. I just want to know everything!” She admitted as she said they decided not to find out anything about the sex of their unborn baby.
Alex said they spoke to other parents who advised them to wait until she was born to find out if their baby was a boy or a girl.
“With everyone we spoke to about this, those who didn’t find out their baby’s gender up to the day said it was the best decision ever. And those who found out early wish they’d waited. So we wanted everything to be a big surprise,” he explained.
While Olivia is impressed, they managed to wait this long because they’re both “pretty impatient people.”
