OlliOlli’s World almost here, and we’ve got another chance to experience the game ahead of its February 8, 2022 launch, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
For those who may not know what OlliOlli World is, it’s a side-scrolling, skateboarding action platformer game by developer Roll7, following on from the two more linear and level-based games that earned the name. their age on the Vita many years ago. This new game is more open world focus and gives you a lot more freedom in how you express yourself and progress the game. Rad.
Quite a bit has changed since the first preview we did. There are many more features in this build for me to show you right now – but I still can’t show you everything. Thanks to the embargo preview for that.
For the best look at what you need to know, you should check out the video at the top of this page. But if you just want to know the top features we’ve broken down in the trailer, we’ve listed it for you below:
- Customization: Customization is an important part of OlliOlli World. While you start with a few decent choices, there’s still plenty to unlock as you ruminate (no pun intended) throughout the game. You unlock more gear by completing levels, overcoming challenges and filling your skateboard mastery – so make sure you’re learning tricks everywhere you go .
- tempo: The developers and writers understand that most people who play this game just want to slide and do tricks, so the dialogues are always short, snappy and filled with millions of skate word games, puns and other modern references that people of all ages can appreciate. The developers at Roll7 are British, and have sneakily used some slang terms that only we can understand, which I like.
- Art director: The art style is really nice, both in the level design and the way the characters are realized. It’s pretty cozy and dreamy, but don’t let its engaging presentation fool you – Olliolli World will put your skills to the test, and in the later part of the game everything will be technical. and your reaction speed will need to hit. If you’ve played the games before, you know how tough things can get when you’re close to hitting the credits. Don’t rest on your laurels.
- Multiplayer: If you’re feeling competitive, there’s a multiplayer section of the game called Gnarvana League that features daily competitions where you’re grouped with people online to see who can put the highest score first before end date. It’s ranked, so you’ll be ranked with people at your skill level, and at the end you’ll get some gear for it if you place well. It’s a solid way to break those thumbs up.
OlliOlli World is a fun and stylish indie game that is super satisfying to play, hits the right track using all the tricks you’ve learned and makes you feel like a badass as you learn how to link the chain together. Going full speed feels great, and the controls are responsive, easy to understand, and simple to use (once you get the hang of them). The audio and visuals are pleasing to the eye and easy to listen to, and the many playback options will never let you get bored; You are never forced to do the same thing over and over again.
It might come out after a tight month, but OlliOlli World is a game you need to keep an eye on.
