Record labels are reportedly calling for registrations of the former X Factor contestant as he prepares to release his seventh studio album while enjoying renewed success as host of the Starstruck show

Olly Murs has sparked a bidding war after giving up his record label in an astonishing way – leaving him to take on a host of rivals.

37 years old singer has been signed to RCA Records since 2016 – with his last two albums, 24Hrs and You Know I Know, released by the label.

But now Olly is said to have left the record label and is planning to find a new home for her music as she prepares to release her seventh studio album.

Now a bunch of rival record labels are said to be sniffing around the X Factor contestant – and current Starstruck host – and are all desperate to win him over with a new deal.

A source told The Sun: “Looks like it’s time to move on and try something new.

“He discussed it with them and ultimately decided he wanted to shake things up a bit. He’s been in the studio working on music for months now and wants to get it out soon.

“As things stand, countless brands have expressed their interest and now it is just a case of finding the best deal that suits him. Olly is really excited about the next chapter.”

Olly rose to fame in 2009 during the sixth season of The X Factor – ultimately losing to the eventual winner, Joe McElderry.

Olly is currently the host of ITV’s Starstruck



He continues to be contracted with Simon Cowell Syco Records and Epic Record – both under the Sony record company – and enjoyed huge chart success despite not winning the talent show.

His debut single, Please Don’t Let Me Go, topped the charts – while subsequent singles Heart Skips A Beat, Dance With Me Tonight, and Troublemaker were all number-one stars. .

His self-titled debut album peaked at #2 in the chart, while subsequent albums In Case you Didn’t Know, Right Place Right Time, Never Been Better and 24Hrs all hit #1. – while his most recent album came in at #2.

Away from the charts, Olly has enjoyed success as a judge on The Voice UK and currently hosts the primetime weekend show Starstruck – a show that sees people perform like their idols in style. way Stars In Their Eyes.

As part of the show, Olly was alarmed to see some people trying to perform like him.

Speaking of his experience, the singer told The Express: “It was pretty bizarre and I actually told the judges if that’s the way I sing and dance I would probably retire right now.

“It’s really humbling, I’m really touched and I’m really amazed that these three guys have gone this far to study me, study the way I sing and the way I perform.

“It was a bit weird and it confused me a bit because I had these amazing judges in front of me and I was trying to be cool and host when all of a sudden I was judging myself.

“Then listen to the comments, my goodness. Adam said, ‘Cover your ears, Olly’. All in all, though, it was a lot of fun. ”

Olly added that he doesn’t want to be seen as “too polished” as a presenter on Starstruck.
