The Queen beamed during the Galloping Through History event at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and she even enjoyed a rather cheeky joke from presenter Omid Djalili

The Queen flung her arms into the air with a subtle smile at a joke about her decision to miss the Opening of the National Assembly during a special Jubilee celebration.
Monarch loved every moment of the history galloping, laughing, smiling and clapping as she watched some impressive equestrian performances.
However, comedian Omid Djalili, who presided over the celebrations, couldn’t resist a cheeky joke about the Queen being in the crowd despite asking her son, Prince Charles, to step in. replace her at a Government event earlier this week.
She was forced to withdraw at the last minute because of mobility issues, but is said to have watched on TV from the comfort of her Windsor Castle home.
At the end of the show, which included 1,300 performers and 500 horses, he said: “Thank you to the great British public that came out tonight, in the back, wearing comfortable shoes and a light raincoat.”
He then went on to thank the guest of honor, but his comment raised a few eyebrows.
“Your Majesty, on behalf of everyone here, we would like to thank you, very humbly, for welcoming us at the Opening of Parliament,” he said.
“You did it right, and I won £5 in a bet with the owner of my local kebab shop in Ipswich.”
His joke received a standing ovation from the audience, and fortunately when the camera was turned towards the Queen, it showed that she enjoyed the comment as well.
She was seen showing a very subtle smile before raising her arms to the sky.
He then went on to thank the hosts and those present for making the night a huge success.
Viewers loved the moment, with some calling it the best moment of the evening.
One person wrote: “Best moment in Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Concert! When Omid Djalili said ‘thank you for choosing us for the Opening of Parliament, Your Majesty’; Female” Emperor smiled & gave up! Priceless.”
Another added: “Haha The Queen just raised her hand in agreement on the pick #platinumjubilee about the state opening the National Assembly. Love it!”
The monarch was forced to miss the Opening of Parliament and was unable to deliver the Queen’s Speech, instead entrusting her constitutional duties to the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge.
She was reluctant to give up the government event, however it was inevitable due to her “batch migration problem”.
The new Queen’s Authorization Letter patent was granted to cover the State Opening authorizing State Counselors to perform the royal function of opening a new session of Parliament.
In this case, it allows Charles and William to perform the same function. No other functions are authorized by the Queen.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “The Queen continues to experience intermittent mobility issues, and in consultation with doctors have reluctantly decided that she will not attend the Opening Ceremony. Parliament opening tomorrow.
“At the Queen’s request and with the consent of the relevant authorities, the Prince of Wales will deliver the Queen’s Speech on behalf of the Queen, which will be attended by the Duke of Cambridge.”
