One notable actor has secretly starred in every Rian Johnson movie

Many famous actors and actresses have been part of Rian Johnson’s films including Jamie Lee Curtis, Bruce Willis, Daniel Craig and many more. However, since the beginning of his directing career, a notable person has appeared in every Johnson film project. This actor is none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt who has starred in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the latest installment in the Knives Out series.

This phenomenon began in 2005 with Rian Johnson’s debut film Brick, in which Joseph played the lead character in a crime drama. After this film, the actor appeared in other Johnson films due to a pact between the two.

Gordon-Levitt previously discussed this issue in an interview with grinder stating, “Rian Johnson’s two are, because we had an agreement, a gentleman’s agreement, that Rian for some reason wants me to be in all of his films, which is a pleasure to me.” He then goes on, to talk about how he’s taken on small speaking roles for the times when he can’t make it to the set.

An example of this work comes from Rian’s recent film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, in which Joseph is the voice for the “Dong!” that sounds every hour on Miles Bron’s private island.
