‘One of the best holes drilled in Ireland in recent years’ – Drilling operation in Limerick shows signs of ‘large’ zinc system

Canadian mining company Group Eleven said a recent drilling campaign at its Ballywire zinc prospect in Limerick was “one of the best holes drilled in Ireland in recent years”.

According to CEO Bart Jaworski, the prospect shows indications that it is a “large system” of high grade mineralization.

The Company said the discovery of “high-grade massive sulphides” grading up to 52.4% lead and zinc was part of an initial reconnaissance drill program at Ballywire.

The style of mineralization “implies a relatively elevated tonnage potential and similarities to the morphology of classic Irish zinc deposits”.
