Due to the recent delay, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 rumors are swirling, with fans dissecting every screen, trailer, and interview.

Nintendo has been quite coy when it comes to sharing information about the upcoming Zelda game, even refusing to reveal the title if it reveals too much. Except that the company can’t necessarily control what some people working on the game say.

Well, before we dive into things, it’s dangerous to run into spoilers. So, if you want to dive into Breath of the Wild 2 completely untouched, then hit the back button now! Anything beyond that could reveal potential details for the open-world sequel, and we don’t want to deprive you of that experience.

Here’s your chance to escape and save yourself from the spoilers below.

For those of you still here, well we don’t have a sword to give you, but we can reward you with some small, potentially juicy details from Breath of the Wild 2. However, keep in mind that we’re still a while away from the game’s release, so these spoilers may not make it into the final game.

With that in mind, let’s jump into things. Emanuele from Lega Hyrule, an Italian Zelda fan base, recently had the chance to interview one of the Italian voice actors working on Breath of the Wild 2 – and it’s a recurring one too.

Speaking to Pietro Ubaldi, who voiced Daruk in the original game, the actor reveals that in the sequel he pronounces “Daruk’s ancestors,” which sounds a bit more serious than its later sequel. Emanuele confirms that this ancestor is not Darunia – the Goron from Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker – but Ubaldi could not remember the name.

It’s a bit sad that this probably isn’t a fun reference to the rest of the Zelda series, but Emanuele does point out that this Goron ancestor could potentially be the champion from 10,000 years ago, the original pilot of the Divine Beast Rudania.

In the brief interview, Ubaldi confirmed that he will continue to voice Daruk in the sequel. But if you remember, after the events of Breath of the Wild, Daruk is in the afterlife. So what’s going on here? Will Link visit the afterlife? Will there be time travel? What about the ancestors of the other champions?

Whatever this means, fans are speculating wildly about what this could mean on ResetEra, including timeline shenanigans. People have also brought up A Link to the Past comparisons. Will Breath of the Wild 2 be for ALTTP like Breath of the Wild was for The Legend of Zelda? At least we can tell that there is dubbing in certain parts of the world.

If you were brave enough to watch the interview and come here – congratulations! Watch out for others, but let us know what you think of the theories or this interview in the comments!
