Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, 45, traveled to Moldova with UNICEF to speak to families fleeing the war between Ukraine and Russia
Orlando Bloom has shared the moment he catches up with a heartbroken Ukrainian mother who fled the bombing with her three young children.
The Hollywood actor, 45, traveled to Moldova with UNICEF to speak to families fleeing the war.
Orlando shared photos of long lines of families with suitcases and children with small backpacks, and also posted a picture of himself talking to a mother holding a baby.
He wrote: “Today at the border I met a mother and her three children who fled Ukraine last night after their neighbor’s house was bombed. They don’t know where they’re going next, but mom just wants her kids to be safe.
“Today is a month since the start of the war and thousands of families are still crossing the border into Moldova every day. The services set up by @UNICEF and partners at the borders are vital for children and families in need of protection. If you can help, please bio.”
Orlando’s fiancee Katy Perry captioned the post, “Thanks for being a great person.”
While Chelsea Handler wrote: “Wow. Orlando. Good work.”
It comes after Robert Rinder helped rescue 52 war-affected Ukrainian orphans and flew them to safety earlier this week.
The 43-year-old criminal defense attorney and TV star has put his life on hold to join efforts in the war-torn country.
He continues to work to help those who really need it and keep everyone on the front lines informed as Russia’s illegal invasion of the European nation mounts.
He added, “Privilege is what you can do and who can be in power to help others.”
