Oti Mabuse says she is realizing “a dream come true” when it was announced that she would perform with Olympic skating icons Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in the Dancing on Ice section this weekend.
The comment comes just days after the dancer, 31, revealed she’s given up Strict until dancing – with her already a much-loved pro on the series’ BBC for seven years.
Oti raised fears of Oti’s return when she was featured on the jury of rival show Dancing On Ice as a replacement for 54-year-old John Barrowman.
And on this weekend’s episode, Oti will take to the stage herself, performing a special routine alongside her fellow judges Jayne, 64, and Christopher, 63.

The unique performance is understood to be inspired by Oti’s upcoming dance tour, I am here – it was the “swirling memory” of her dream pursuit.
Oti will dance on the stage above the center of the rink, while the Olympic gold medalists – and other professional skaters on the show – skate around.
ITV has said that the performance will feature a “habit of extreme excitement”, with choreography by Jayne and Christopher. It has been described as an “elaborate combination of ice and dance.”
Discussing the performance, Oti said: “It’s great to dance again and I can’t wait to see what we’ve been up to for my ‘I Am Here UK Tour’ as we launch the show on Dancing On Ice This Sunday! Someone pinched me!”

Oti – who has won Seriously on two occasions – said the dance “will always [her] first love. “She said the tour would end the ‘best chapter’ of her life. She added that it was a ‘way of saying thank you’ to her supporters.”
She added: “I’m honored that legends Torvill and Dean choreographed talented professional skaters for this special performance. It was truly a dream come true. Also please Thank you to the actors on my tour.”
Speaking of the show, Jayne said: “We’ve always loved experimenting with new ideas and were delighted to be working with Oti on this brand new process.”
“It really shows how dance and skating can go together, we really hope audiences will enjoy watching it as much as we’ve enjoyed working together,” she added. .
And Christopher added: “It was an exciting show that showcased the dancing and skating to perfection. We enjoyed working with Oti and this partnership was incredibly exciting for all of us. “
The performance comes just days after Oti informed fans on Instagram earlier this week that she won’t be returning to Serious – where she joined in 2015.
She said: “It’s never easy to say goodbye. I’ve been on the most amazing TV show, seriously to the point of dancing, for the past seven years and it’s been an incredible time.”
The dancer recalled lifting the Glitterball trophy twice and having “the most amazing journey” with all of her celebrity partners, then praising the backstage team and co-workers.

She expressed her gratitude to the BBC, and she noted that it was the performance that brought her to the UK from Germany – with her saying that she now calls the former place “home”.
Oti added in her statement on social media earlier this week: “I cannot put into words how difficult this decision has been, but I have decided not to return for the next series.”
