Outrageous interpretation of Senate dress code draws critics

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) adjusted the informal code to allow lawmakers to wear whatever they want when entering the chamber, which many saw as a nod to Sen. John Fetterman (D- Pa.) and his hoodie wardrobe.

On Tuesday, Erickson joined the choir.

“Democrats who were outraged that rioters stormed the Capitol on January 6th because of the violence against this great temple of democracy are OK with letting a man at war with the English language and pants unite in the Senate “You can wear a hoodie and shorts,” Erickson wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Just no bison helmets.”

Critics couldn’t help but point out the false equivalence – and some had trouble believing the tweet was even real:
