Overwatch 2 Beta – how to join for free starting today

What is Overwatch 2?

Overwatch 2 is a sequel to 2014’s Overwatch, the hugely popular shooter game by Activision Blizzard.

After months of rumors and leaks, Blizzard finally confirmed that Overwatch 2 exists at Blizzard’s BlizzCon 2019 conference in early November 2019.

Like its predecessor, the game will be a fast-paced team shooter in which players take control of fantastic characters with special powers.

The first game focused on online multiplayer battles, however blizzard introduced a story mode for the sequel.

The new game will share multiplayer with the original, but will also have a PvE (Player vs Environment) mode.

Overwatch 2 Release Date – When is it out and beta start date?

Overwatch 2 was announced at BlizzCon on November 1st, 2019.

But unfortunately there is no definitive release date for the game.

What we do know is that the game’s alpha testing is now complete – and the title has moved into beta testing.

And the call for participation in the Overwatch 2 beta has opened up for players.

The first opportunity is today – Wednesday April 27th.

You must log into Twitch between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM New York time (or after 6:00 PM London time).

And then you must watch at least four hours of Overwatch 2 gameplay.

However, it only works if you watch through one of the approved ones streamers.

It is also possible to participate in the beta by logging into Overwatch website.

However, this is not guaranteed – only selected players will get a chance to play.

The beta runs until May 17th and waves of players will be added during this period.

If you don’t get beta access, don’t panic: the game will probably land this year.
