Overwatch 2 will now record and transcribe your team chat

Blizzard is testing a new system in Overwatch 2 that will record and transcribe your team’s audio.

This is in hopes of taking action against harmful behavior such as threats, insults, and insults in Overwatch 2.

The feature will only be implemented on PC for now and will only record audio and transcribe it when someone reports it.

This is a new part of what the company is calling its Defense Matrix initiative. So far it has only been introduced in certain countries.

It also only applies to public voice channels. So when you play with friends, your conversations stay private.

Blizzard uses a speech-to-text program to analyze audio from servers only when a player has been reported for problematic voice chat behavior.

The company recommends that all players involved in the team be reported so the system has the best chance of picking up the audio.

If your account is part of the trial, you’ll see a notification the first time you enter voice chat.

People don’t listen to the audio recording, and the original clip is deleted after being transcribed for privacy reasons.

Blizzard claims that the system is only used to locate players engaged in malicious or disruptive behavior and does not use the system for data collection.

The system was introduced in the latest patch, which also brought a whole bunch of new changes and updates to the game.

One of the biggest changes was how aim assist worked in crossplay matches to put players on an even playing field.

PC gamers have far greater speed and accuracy compared to console gamers’ controllers because they use a mouse and keyboard.

This causes crossplay console players to become frustrated as they feel unable to win a match.

The latest change will make controller gamers more compatible with PC gamers.

However, this change does not affect the competitive mode of the game.
