Rocker Ozzy Osbourne no longer keeps bats in his bell tower – he’s about to introduce them to his garden, too.
The Dark Prince of Heavy Metal shocked fans 40 years ago when he bit off the head of a bat thrown on stage.
But now, the legendary Black Sabbath is dedicated to protecting the creatures by installing a bat box at his UK residence.

In 1982, he left a gig in Des Moines, Iowa, with the taste of bats in his mouth and supplies of rabies vaccine.
He thinks the bat some kids bring to the concert is made of rubber. “I picked it up, put it in my mouth, bent down, bit into it, like a clown,” Ozzy said.
Batman once had only good intentions for small animals because his home in Chalfont St Peter, Bucks, was conceived for his return from America.
Ozzy, 73, has promised planning chiefs that he will put in place bat protections to aid conservation at his multi-million pound Tier II listed home, which he will share shared with his wife and former X Factor judge Sharon.
