Paddy McGuinness has sent a heartfelt message to fellow comedian and comedian Peter Kay ahead of his new tour.
The comedian and Car Share star turned heads nationwide when he announced the sale of tickets for his comeback tour – the first in 12 years.
More dates have been added to meet demand.
Now childhood friend Paddy posted a message to the legendary comedian.
He said in an Instagram post: “I don’t often talk about Pete and his achievements on my social media.
“He’s been a mate since I was little and that’s how I always see him
“For all the great things he’s accomplished on television, there’s literally no one quite close to what he’s doing live. The amount of tickets he sells is unheard of in the comedy world and beyond.
“He’s one of a kind folks, enjoy him, I don’t think you’ll see his like again? Certainly not in our lifetime. I am very proud of you my son.
“PS I don’t have any tickets. I don’t need PPS. #peterkay”
The duo became friends in high school.
They then did Phoenix Nights together with Dave Spikey.
One fan replied: “What you said about your lifelong friend just brought me to tears.
“You are a true friend and I’m sure he would say the same of you, you both have your feet firmly planted in Bolton’s soil and although you have both worked so well for yourselves with all the beautiful things that come with fame, you never forget your roots.
“And that is to be applauded, well done by another Lancastrian.”
