A young couple who got engaged at Parklife are now eyeing Bora Bora as a possible honeymoon destination after the festival boss offered to pay for the trip.

Indy Geraghty, 23, and Myles Goodfellow, 25, stunned 80,000 festival-goers at Heaton Park in Manchester when they got engaged alongside rapper Yung Filly on the main stage on Saturday June 11.

But after the couple stumbled upon their happy news online, festival boss Sacha Lord offered to pay for their honeymoon and gave them lifetime festival tickets.

The couple, from Galashiels, Scotland, spoke exclusively to the Mirror as they revealed they are considering jetting off to the luxurious and romantic island in French Polynesia after tying the knot.

The children’s sweethearts, who have been together for eight years, met as teenagers at house parties.

Engineer ‘Milo’ said he had been thinking about applying for over a year but didn’t know how to proceed when cafe manager Indy surprised him with Parklife festival tickets.

He told the Mirror: “I only had about three weeks to prepare because she bought the tickets at the last minute.

“When she told me we were going to Parklife, I thought ‘this is my chance’.

“I contacted Yung Filly’s management and told them what I wanted to do and they got back to me and said, ‘Let’s do it.’

“We both love Yung Filly, we’ve been following him for ages, we watch all his youtube videos and we think he’s really funny.”

After Milo bought a ring and left it in the safe possession of his best pal Jordan to get through festival security, Milo had almost everything ready and kept under wraps by Indy.

All it took was finding a way to explain how they got on stage and came up with a plan to surprise Indy with a “fake meet and greet” with Yung Filly.

Milo said: “I got my best mate Jordan to come over to us on the day and say we had a surprise meeting with Yung Filly.

“I’d only had one beer so I was pretty nervous, standing in the crowd waiting to go on stage.”

After popping the question, Indy said yes through tears of shock and sheer joy, and the pair became a viral sensation, with clips of the engagement sweeping social media.

Indy said: “It was incredible, it’s a day I will never forget and a story to tell for a lifetime.

“I never expect him to propose that way, he’s not a person out there so it was a massive shock! Totally out of my comfort zone, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

When Sacha Lord offered to pay for their honeymoon, Indy said, “I was so emotional when he called me I couldn’t believe it. It’s such a beautiful thing.

“We thought of a few places including Bora Bora as it has always been a dream location so definitely one to consider.”

The couple, who met when they were 16 and 17, will be together eight years to the day next Valentine’s Day.

Indy said: “When we were young we couldn’t really keep our distance!

“He ended up asking me out on Valentine’s Day and we’ve been together ever since.”

Undeterred by the trolls, the couple is now looking forward to planning their wedding, adding that they would love to get married “in a castle”.

Indy said: “I realized it was a very, very happy moment for me, so despite the negativity, I decided I wasn’t going to let it affect me any more than it did!

“We were looking at places, I want a castle or something would be great! But for now we’re just trying to find our way around!

Milo added, “I never thought the proposal would generate so many reactions, it was amazing.”
