A search has now been launched after the Tara Air flight lost contact while flying over the Nepalese mountains

A passenger plane carrying 22 people disappeared minutes after takeoff as the fate of those on board is unknown.
The small plane was carrying 19 passengers and three crew members on Sunday morning while flying over a remote mountain range in Nepal.
Nepalese airline Tara Air said the 9N-AET lost contact at 9.55am and a helicopter was dispatched to the area where the last contact was made, the reports Kathmandu Post.
On board the 9N-AET machine were 13 Nepalese, four Indians, two Germans and three crew members.
The flight departed from the tourist town of Pokhara and was on a 15-minute journey to the mountain town of Jomsom, they reported The sun.
However, the plane lost contact shortly after takeoff and a search operation was launched with no information on its whereabouts.
According to an air traffic controller at Jomsom Airport, there has been an unconfirmed report of a loud noise in the Ghasa area of Jomsom.
It has been raining heavily in the area for the past few days, but flights have been able to continue as usual.
The area in Nepal is popular with hikers and also a place of pilgrimage for Indians and Nepalese because of the Muktinath Temple.
