Recently, the Grinding Gear Games team announced their intention to bring PC controller support to Road exile, the first is the beta that comes with the 3.17.3 update. Now, the patch notes for the update are out, with the update downtime to follow on PC later in the day.
Update 3.17.3 brings PC controller beta along with some fixes for this issue The siege of Atlas era. Some of the changes include fixing various conversation audio issues, client issues related to Scorching Ray and Stygian Firestorm, and adding an accurate description to Tempest Shield’s quality. Most of the fixes are for various errors like the “show all” option on the non-saved character selection screen.
A few tweaks are useful changes. Either of these will show min and max defense values when you use the highlight key when hovering over dropped items. The Overkill explosion from the Curse of Punishment will no longer occur if the curse is in the possession of a defender or their ally. When fighting a boss in The Infinite Hunger, the arena mechanic will stop after the boss has been killed.
When it comes to PC controller support, the beta starts with this update and will stay that way until the 3.18 expansion, giving Grinding Gear an appropriate amount of time to allow players to try out the suite. control and get enough data to complete it. Now, once the beta starts, you’ll be able to log in and go to the Input Options panel to change to using the console beta. Given that this is a beta, the team is looking for feedback and bug reports if needed, but this should give many players another, more comfortable option for their journey.
