Paul Brogan says Dancing With The Stars rehearsals are like ‘running a marathon’

Fans of Paul Brogan’s sloppy outfit from Dancing with the Stars will be in for a treat when the former Dublin footballer confirms he’s “showing off” tomorrow night.
rogan said the “stick” he gets from brothers and friends over outfit selection is all in good nature and part of the show when “you put yourself out there”.
The 36-year-old said he’s no stranger to people questioning his outfit as his weekend style is “very nice, if I’m honest”, but that won’t stop the Dubliner.
He will be dancing to Charleston this weekend and confirmed that the rehearsals have been “very tough”.
“One of the things I definitely struggled with was portraying that character. For TV, what you think you have to do, you actually have to do two or three times. You really have to work with your character and how you appear on stage.
“You really have to get along with your partner – that’s very important. If not, it will appear in rehearsal and also in the live show,” he said.
Brogan is set to wear a Hercules-themed outfit tomorrow, and said he’d love to have input with the show’s stylists.
He said while his brothers gave him support, they were very encouraging when he received an offer to join the show, and they were always looking for inside information and even giving advice. “We are a very close family and we talk every day. They are always with me for updates and videos of what’s going on.
“We went out recently and they said, ‘you just need to relax more and be yourself on stage,’ but I told them it’s easy to say when you’re sitting in a pub drinking. a few pints and more difficult when performing live. TELEVISION. It was all love – they went to see the first few live shows and were delighted with them all. If they stop yelling at me, I think something wrong will happen.”
He said the pressure of performing live weighed heavily on his mind.
“If you fall, you will fall. That’s it, no second time. You just get up, dust yourself off and move on. It was a dance show that most of us had never danced before so things were bound to go wrong.

“Ten weeks ago, I never dreamed I would do something like this. I danced a lot on Coppers but that’s not exactly what they were looking for on the show,” he said.
“I’m in the Charleston this week and it’s been tough. Wednesday and Thursday nights, my legs feel like they’ve just run a marathon. I was too tired.”
