Paul McCartney’s love life – destroyed on live TV, a bitter and heartbreaking divorce

Sir Paul McCartney has been on this planet for 80 years, and in that time he has had his fair share of love, loss and pain.
The singer rose to fame at the age of 21 after The Beatles became a huge hit – and very quickly became one of the most popular musicians of all time.
But Paul, who is celebrating his 80th anniversary on Saturday, dropped himself into ‘Beatlemania’ in the 1960s and has had a series of wives and hearts since.
He rose to fame on live TV after he was allegedly caught cheating and he “cried a year” after the tragic death of his wife of 30 years, Linda McCartney.
But let’s take a look back at his first love – Jane Asher – whom he met in April 1963 when the Beatles were playing at the iconic Royal Albert Hall.
Jane, who was only 17 years old when she met him, is said to have been a huge influence on Paul, and he has written many love songs about her including “All My Loving” and “And I Love Her”.
In a later interview, Paul said: “I met Jane Asher when she was sent by the Radio Times to cover a concert we had attended at the Royal Albert Hall – we took a picture with him. her for the magazine and we are all fans of her.
“We thought she was blonde, because we’ve only seen her on black and white TV while doing Juke Box Jury, but it turns out she’s a redhead. So: ‘Wow, you’re a redhead!’ I tried to pull her, it worked, and we’ve been boyfriend and girlfriend for quite a while,” he added.
They were together for 5 years and Paul even raised questions, but eventually they broke up – and this breakup became one of the most notorious breakups in history when she did. on live television.
They had a try at writing Rubber Soul in 1965 but things took a turn for the worse after Jane reported that he had cheated on her.
Paul allegedly did dirty work and saw American Francie Schwartz while she was at work.
As it’s been said, hell has no fury like a scorned woman – in 1968 she was on the BBC talk show Dee Time and broke up with Paul on the air.
Jane told host Simon Dee: “I haven’t broken it yet, but it’s done.”
“I know it sounds silly, but we still met and fell in love, but it didn’t work out. Maybe we’ll be childhood sweethearts and meet again and get married when we’re almost 70.”
According to the NY Daily News, although Paul was smitten with Jane throughout their relationship, he also spent several nights with actress Peggy Lipton.
Writer Ivor Davis, who accompanied the Beatles on their first US tour, said: “He was dating London-based actress Jane Asher – but that didn’t stop him. prevented him from having a secret affair with a young Hollywood actress. Peggy Lipton, who told me at the time that Paul told her he wanted to marry her.”
Then there was Linda Eastman, whom Paul continued to marry until her death in 1998 at the age of 56.
Linda is a photographer and the couple met on a trip to New York City in 1968.
The couple married after dating for just six months, and although Paul is allegedly known for struggling to stay loyal, reports suggest he has never cheated while with Linda.
Linda, who became one of the first to invent vegetarian food, has three children – Mary, Stella and James.
They have been married for 30 years and Paul says he “crys for a year” after she died of breast cancer.
“When she came to England and we met, the best part was that we both wanted to be free. We did what we wanted and she took pictures of it all,” Paul later told the BBC. .
After Linda died, Paul spoke of his grief: “I think I cried for a year,” he said. “You expect to see them walk in, you love, because you’re so used to them. I cried a lot. It was almost embarrassing except it seemed the only thing to do.”
A year after Linda’s death, the singer met Heather Mills – whom he knew little about at the time, going away with £24.3 million in a divorce.
The couple crossed paths at an event where he presented an award named after Linda.
Heather, who worked as a model, lost part of her leg in a collision with a police motorcycle and later wrote a memoir titled: “Out on a Limb” while campaigning. anti mines.
The couple married in 2002 and have a daughter together named Beatrice.
Stella, Paul’s other daughter, with whom he lives with Linda, is notoriously unpopular with Heather.
Heather told The Things: “Every week [Stella] tried to break up our marriage. “
“She’s very jealous. She doesn’t care about her father’s happiness. I can’t protect her anymore. She did some bad, evil things.”
Eventually, after Paul and Heather began engaging in heated arguments, the couple divorced in 2006.
She initially sought £125m, and Paul offered £15.8m.
At the time, Heather told reporters: “I’m glad it’s over.”
