Ralf Rangnick on Man Utd’s next permanent manager

Several top European clubs have reportedly contacted Paul Pogba’s representatives over a summer move, including two First League Pages. It’s unclear who these two outfits are.

the Manchester United Midfielder, 29, is out of contract in June and is was able to complete a free transfer. Pogba already has expressed interest in a move to Paris Saint-Germain and it is believed real Madrid and juventus are also excited.

Accordingly Sky sports news, Pogba is yet to receive an official offer and United haven’t presented him with a contract extension since last summer. Rumors suggest he won’t make a decision on his future until the summer for a number of reasons.

Pogba is believed to want to know the identity of the next United manager before saying goodbye to Old Trafford. The Red Devils are currently being coached by interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who will start a two-year consultancy in the summer.

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag is the current favorite for the job at United and has reportedly been been interviewed for the position. Other names in the frame include Mauricio Pochettino, Julen Lopetegui, Luis Enrique and Thomas Tuchel.

Where United end up in the Premier League is also likely to have an impact from this tenure. The Red Devils are sixth in the table, four points behind arsenal to have played one more game. Tottenham and west ham are also on the hunt Champions League Football.

Will Paul Pogba stay at Manchester United? Let us know in the comments below!

Pogba has had a glittering career so far, winning four Serie A titles, two Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups, the World Cup, Nations League, Europa League and EFL Cup. But his return to Old Trafford did not go as hoped.

United paid a world record fee of £89million to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016 but they didn’t come close to winning the Premier League or Champions League. He has scored 39 goals in 222 games for the Red Devils.

Pogba’s time at Old Trafford has been marred by several public outbursts from himself and his agent Mino Raiola. In his recent comments, the player said: “To be honest, the last five seasons haven’t satisfied me – really not at all.

“It’s dead this year, we’re not going to win anything. Whether it’s at Manchester United or any other club, I want to win trophies.” Upon joining PSG, Pogba said: “Why not? It’s always nice to play with your team-mates at national team and at club.”

Many will see Pogba’s comments as disrespectful as the midfielder is still at United. In December 2020 – just hours before a crucial Champions League clash against RB Leipzig – Raiola said his client wanted to leave Old Trafford.

United lost the game and ended their campaign. “Raiola – This has happened many times,” United legend Gary Neville tweeted after the incident.

“However, did Paul know for sure he was making that announcement? If he didn’t know, we should see a quote from him very soon correcting his agent. After all, it’s terrible timing for the team to do this ahead of Leipzig and the Manchester- to do derby.” .”

Which Premier League team could Pogba join?

Liverpool

Despite the rivalry between United and the Merseyside club, it wouldn’t be the strangest move. Rumors from last year suggested Raiola was offered Liverpool the chance to sign Pogba for £50m. A transfer never materialized, but that doesn’t mean a deal is impossible.

“Paul Pogba is a world-class player,” said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp – who has always been very supportive of Pogba – in December 2018.

Manchester City

Perhaps the most likely move, despite City seeing United as their biggest rivals. Pogba wants to play at the highest level and win trophies – something of a guarantee at City. Pep Guardiola’s side have won eight major awards since United’s last title.

Guardiola also claimed that Pogba was offered to him by Raiola in April 2018. “Pogba is an incredible player… a top, top player,” said the Spaniard at the time.

Chelsea

If Pogba doesn’t feel like upsetting United fans, Stamford Bridge could be his ideal destination. The Blues are currently unable to sign any players the sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovichalthough that won’t be a problem if the club is sold as planned.

Chelsea could offer Pogba Champions League football and a huge chance at titles considering they are the reigning European and World champions. He could also link up with international teammate N’Golo Kante.

“When Paul Pogba plays alongside Kante, he looks like a completely different player,” ex-striker Darren Bent said in January. “If they signed him, Chelsea, wow, that midfield.”

Tottenham

With a new stadium and training ground, there’s no doubting Spurs’ ambitions. Signing Pogba would be a big deal but whether they can afford him or offer Champions League football is unclear. Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League, three points behind Arsenal in fourth place after playing one more game.

“Pogba is a modern player because he’s strong, quick and has stamina,” said Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, who worked with the player at Juventus. “He’s also humble, so he listens to the advice of me and his team-mates. We started working on him a year ago and his progress has been incredible… I think he can be the best.”

arsenal

Probably the most unlikely option. Despite Arsenal being on pole position to qualify for the Champions League, manager Mikel Arteta has invested heavily in youth. Signing Pogba would see the Gunners move away from their current blueprint.

Arteta wouldn’t welcome Pogba and Raiola speaking to the press either. The Spaniard isn’t afraid to drop a big name – just ask Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
